What exactly happened?
April 22, 2006     DNS    We struggled all day to get the car ready to go and at 3:00 decided to load her up and head to the track.  We finally got the car started at the track, plumbed the brakes but didn't make the show because our rear bleeders were gone.  Oh well there's always next time
April 29, 2006         Rained Out
May 6, 2006 7 7 19 19 It was quite a rush being out there on the track finally after all the time that was spent on the car.  Everything went well but as lap traffic was coming and the car was missing I decided to get off the track. If you were there you know what happened next.
May 13, 2006         Rained Out
May 20, 2006 7 7 23 14 The car is still overheating and it is missing at about 6000 RPM's  I finally figured out how to go into the corners without mashing on the brakes and am feeling good about being in the car.
May 27, 2006 6 6 15 12 We have gotten rid of the miss now all we need to do is cure the overheating problem.  Sitting in staging for the feature the 1st and reverse linkage came off but thanks to Andy we got it put back together before the race started.  After spinning a couple of times the car overheated and I called it a night.
June 3, 2006 7 7 20 14 BLOWN MOTOR, But man was she hooking up on the top side.  I passed 3 or 4 cars in 2 laps and then the motor let loose on me going through turn 1.  I guess what they say is true, they always run harder before they BLOW.
June 10, 2006 6 6 DNS   After spending all week trying to get a motor put together and running we were finally ready to go at about 5 pm Sat night.  Once again we went to the track without starting the motor due to our inability to get the timing right.  We got the car running but before the feature it started making one hell of a racket so I decided against going out.  On the first lap of the feature there was a major pile up with the cars rolling over in turn 3 so I am glad the car decided to act up.
June 15, 2006 6 6 13 11 Fair Race - After disassembling the motor that I just put together we realized that we had bent two valves due to them sticking.  I got one head fixed and put one head off the old motor on and thought we were good.  At the track we realized that there was another problem since we had a bad miss at 4800 RPM.
June 24, 2006           Rained Out - After the last race I once again disassembled the motor and took the head into the shop.  We determined that the miss was from the valves still sticking.  The head had cast guides so we switched them out with bronze guides and the miss seems to be gone.  Of coarse that was after I replaced everything in the ignition system.
July 1, 2006 6 5 14 9 We are still fighting a miss and have not yet figured out what is causing it.
July 3, 2006 6 6 16 16 Topless Mod Special - To fix the miss we swapped out distributors before the feature and ended up causing the car to have worse problems due to the tach and power wires toucing inside the cap.  We were rushed due to the fact that there wasn't an internission due to pending rain.
July 8, 2006 This night seems to be a blurr to me and the track.  I can't remember what happened and they didn't post the results.  I will update it later.
July 15, 2006 7 6 17 9 Well, the car is still missing and I don't have much power off the corners but I don't loose any distance on the straights.
July 22, 2006 6 5 18 11 Acquired 2 new tires, my only new tires all year before this race and man what a difference.  When I went into the first turn in hot laps I damn near threw myself into the wall.  Special Thanks to Connie and Dick for the new rubber.
July 29, 2006 6 6 16 8 The motor developed some sort of flubber at high RPM's and caused me to not be able to run as fast as I had hoped.  We just stuck in there to finish the race and didn't finish too bad..
Aug 5, 2006 4 5 10 8 Woo Hoo!  We have finally got the miss behind us.  All this time and money and it was the distributor.  Now the problem is I have to re-learn how to drive the car with all of this HP.
